Patricia Gorham

Post Adoption Supervisor – Region 6

As the Post Adoption Supervisor for Region 6, Patricia Gorham provides support to Post Adoption staff who directly work with adoptive families in the Greater Houston area, and who support adoptive families by connecting them with services that promote family preservation and with beneficial resources to help their children be successful. Patricia comes to Arms Wide with 25 years of Child Welfare experience to include, foster care, adoption and post adoption. Patricia is a graduate of the University of Houston, where she received her degree in Psychology.

Why I started with Arms Wide:

I came to Arms Wide because I wanted to continue my work with adoptive families through Post Adoption. I found a great connection with these families and feel that my past experiences in child welfare has been beneficial to families in need of this service, and to the staff I have supervised in this capacity.

My favorite part about my job:

Is working with families and watching them grow, connect and stay together.

My least favorite part:

It is heartbreaking when a child is returned to CPS custody.

More about me:

My passion for helping children and families through foster care, adoption and post adoption has been the driving force in the direction my career path has taken for the last 25 years. I have been blessed with amazing opportunities to work with very talented and thoughtful people who have had a tremendous impact on so many lives.
