Development and Marketing Coordinator

As the Development and Marketing Coordinator, Emily Person manages communications and supports fundraising initiatives for Arms Wide. She loves helping children and telling the stories of our forever families.

Why I started with Arms Wide:

It is exciting to see families become whole through adoption, tell their stories and advocate for children in foster care. I am excited to be part of Arms Wide’s mission of transforming the lives of children in need of safe and nurturing permanent families.

My favorite part about my job:

I enjoy telling the stories of our families in our newsletter and helping kids feel more comfortable in foster care through our Angel Room. I also love the family-like culture of the Arms Wide team and am inspired by the work my colleagues do every day.

My least favorite part:

It’s sad to see the number of children still in need of a loving home.

More about me:

I love to travel, cook, hike and spend time with my family. My husband and I have a baby boy, Alexander, and two rescue dogs. I have lived in Houston since 2015 and love the music, arts, culture and restaurants our city has to offer!
