As the Kinship Navigator/Home Developer, Johnnietre Elam work directly with Kinship caregivers to provide education, guidance, and support as they care for their relative/fictive kin children. Johnnietre educational background includes a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice and a master’s degree in Counseling Psychology.
Why I started with Arms Wide:
I started working with Arms Wide because the Arms Wide mission aligns with my passion and purpose. My passion and purpose lie in advocating, providing support and education to children and families who have been through a traumatic/stressful experience. I believe all children deserve to live in a loving, stable home with families who prioritize their wellbeing.
My favorite part about my job:
My favorite part about my job is my coworkers and being able to do meaningful work daily.
My least favorite part:
My least favorite part about my job is knowing that we cannot help every child and family in need.
