Eliminating Barriers and Empowering Futures Through Scholarships
Arms Wide is proud to announce the recipients of the 2025–2026 David and Jacque Holland Scholarships. Each year, this life-changing scholarship program supports youth who have been served through our Foster Care, Adoption, and Permanency Support Services, helping open doors to educational and career opportunities that pave the way for brighter futures.
This initiative is central to Arms Wide’s mission, particularly in light of the sobering statistics: only 3 – 4% of youth formerly in foster care complete a four-year college degree, and just 2 – 6% complete a two-year degree. Through this scholarship program, Arms Wide is working to change that narrative.
This year, over $50,000 in scholarship funding has been awarded to nine outstanding young people pursuing higher education and vocational training. Among them, four are returning recipients, a testament to their persistence, growth, and continued academic success.
This opportunity is made possible thanks to the enduring generosity of David and Jacque Holland, whose endowment continues to transform lives year after year. The Arms Wide Endowment Trustees thoughtfully reviewed each application and were deeply inspired by the resilience, ambition, and potential of every applicant.
