Help Arms Wide Adoption Services children and families affected by Hurricane Harvey.
All of the children in Arms Wide Adoption Services foster and adoptive homes are safe. We are thankful for all of you who have checked in and sent us your prayers and positive thoughts during this tragic time. Sadly, some of our families, who have already given so much, lost everything.
Together, we can lift these families up and rebuild our Texas communities. Please donate to the children and families served by Arms Wide Adoption Services who were affected by Hurricane Harvey in our 32-county service area. All donations will go directly to children and families in our programs impacted by Hurricane Harvey. Any gifts received in excess of relief efforts will be used for general support of our programs.
“One of our foster families has been displaced by Hurricane Harvey. They are unable to return to their home because of mildew and foundation issues. At this time, they are staying in a hotel. Hopefully they will be able to get a two bedroom apartment, but they are going to need everything to furnish this new, and unfamiliar home.”
This is just one family’s story. However, this once-in-a-lifetime storm affected so many other children and families who are close to our hearts and mission. In addition to cash donations, bed frames, mattresses, clothing, toys, shoes, school supplies, tables, and chairs are also needed.
Here’s how you helped:
- Your donations helped a foster family of five who are unable to return to their home. They have three children, ages two, three and seven. Because of your support, this family will be able to get essentials, like food, diapers, wipes, linens, school supplies and basic furniture.
- Your donations also helped a post adoption, single-parent family with three children who lost everything to flooding. Because of your support, this family will be able to get necessities, like groceries, cleaning supplies, kitchen items, mattresses and appliances.
Your generosity allows these families to meet their basic, immediate needs until FEMA and other local resources become available. Your support also helps make this tough time a little less traumatic for these children and families who have already been through so much.
