Therapy services are offered to all families eligible for post adoption and post permanency services as funding from the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS) is available. Arms Wide’s experienced adoption staff work tirelessly to locate community resources to support our adopted children and their adoptive families.
Therapy is offered to assist with adoption issues that are present as a result of the adopted child’s history of abuse, neglect, and/or abandonment and their moves in foster care.
In order for the Post Adoption and Post Permanency Programs to be able to pay for therapeutic services, all treatment must relate to the adopted child’s early history of abuse/neglect.
Therapeutic and adoption counseling services are available to all family members impacted by the adoption experience as funding from DFPS is available. Services offered are: individual counseling and family, group, and marital therapy (for adoptive parents). Under therapeutic services, Arms Wide’s Post Adoption and Post Permanency Programs can also assist with psychological and neuro-psychological testing not covered by insurance or the school system.
