Why I started with Arms Wide:
After working in child welfare for almost a decade, then stepping away to pursue more clinically focused work in private practice and community mental health, I am thrilled to bring all of my skillsets together at Arms Wide. Children and families involved in the child welfare system have always been very near to my heart. I align strongly with Arms Wide’s values of Commitment, Integrity, Compassion and Inclusivity in serving those in our community.
My favorite part about my job:
I love getting to see “aha” moments with families and staff when working through a difficult situation – in the home, in training or field work. The work we do is challenging, but seeing things connect for people as it relates to understanding the impacts of trauma, reaching a child who’s having a hard time, or feeling confident in how we support those families is so rewarding to me.
My least favorite part:
The fact that there is such a need for services like ours.
More about me:
My husband and I have three children, two dogs, a cat and a bearded dragon! I love spending time at my kids’ activities, as well as working out, reading science fiction and going for long walks when the weather is nice.
Ask me about:
What I’m reading or my recent workout- I love to share about books I enjoy and the challenge of pushing myself physically.
