Wendy’s Wonderful Kids Recruiter
As a WWK recruiter, Heather works directly with kids who are legally available for adoption, building trust-based relationships and searching for each child’s forever family through child-based recruitment. Why I started with Arms Wide:
I have worked with at-risk youth for many years, but wanted to expand by helping youth who haven’t found their forever home yet, and I knew that I could do that at Arms Wide. Working alongside a team of compassionate and committed individuals while doing what I am passionate about is a blessing I do not take lightly.
My favorite part about my job:
Getting to be around the kids and assist them on their life’s journey!
My least favorite part:
Not being able to quickly find amazing families for all the kids.
More about me:
I am legally a mom to three amazing kids, but I have fostered many and currently parent a few who haven’t decided if they want to be adopted yet. I advocate for foster and adoption all the time to anyone who shows interest. I am curious about everything, so you will often find me researching different topics just for fun and I love listening to others tell me about their interests. I volunteer often and love feeding others. You are most likely to catch me, when not working, reading with my snakes or cat curled up on me or dancing and singing in the kitchen with my kids.
Ask me about:
Food (cooking or fun places to eat at), books, art, history (right up to Industrial Revolution), nature, my wonderful kids, and my weird pets.
