As Recruitment & Home Developer Supervisor, Amanda Leal oversees the training and recruitment efforts of Arms Wide aimed at attracting and developing foster and adoptive families that meet the unique and diverse needs of the children in the custody of The Department of Family Protective Services.

Why I started with Arms Wide:

I first learned of Arms Wide and the work they do during my time as an adoption caseworker. I was drawn to their commitment to serve families and guide them through the foster, kinship and adoption process and the support they provide post adoption. Arms Wide has a wonderful reputation for the quality of care they provide, and I was thrilled when an opportunity was available for me to be part of this organization.

My favorite part about my job:

My favorite part of this job is being a part of a dedicated team that finds and develops loving, stable homes where children can thrive and feel truly safe.

My least favorite part:

Knowing that there are still many children in the foster care system waiting to find their permanent family.

More about me:

I am a wife and mom of two children, Mateo and Camila. You can find us at one ballpark or another most weekends cheering our children on. I enjoy travelling, live music, and reading when time permits.
