Ebony Moore

Kinship Home Developer/Navigator

As the Kinship Home Developer/Navigator, Ebony Moore provides one-on-one support to potential kinship or fictive kin families at Arms Wide. She works alongside families to help them meet the requirements for licensure and ensure they are equipped to help their loved ones thrive.

Why I started with Arms Wide:

I am grateful for the opportunity to be a part of the team here at Arms Wide because its mission aligns with my personal values, such as supporting children, advocating for families, or promoting equity in adoption. I appreciate the agency’s emphasis on teamwork and its supportive work environment.

My favorite part about my job:

Helping children and prospective families find each other is incredibly rewarding. I play a key role in building families that might not have formed otherwise. I have the opportunity to create lasting positive change in the lives of children and families. Many children in foster care face uncertainty, and you can help them find stability, love, and belonging. I love what I do.

My least favorite part:

Making decisions about placements or navigating complex family dynamics can be challenging and, at times, heartbreaking.

More about me:

I am originally from Gulfport, Mississippi and am new to the Houston area. I graduated from College of New Rochelle with my Bachelors in Brooklyn, NY. I have over 5 years of experience in child welfare. I look forward to furthering my education in this field very soon.

Ask me about:

Ask me about my love for animals, interior decorating and thrifting.
