Jesse Grimaldo
Administrative Assistant / Finance
As the Administrative Assistant and a member of our Finance Department, Jesse is the first face families see when they walk through our doors. He’s a true team player who knows our office inside out, lending a hand wherever he’s needed.
Why I started with Arms Wide:
After high school, I became a contractor for GeoControl, which is associated with NASA. A manager at Arms Wide was related to a manager at NASA, so when Arms Wide needed a young person to work in Finance, I was referred to the job. I was excited to work at an adoption organization since my grandfather was adopted, and I wanted to learn more about the process he would’ve gone through as a kid.
My favorite part about my job:
I love the people with whom I work. Everyone is friendly and respectful. I never dread going to work because I’m looking forward to seeing my coworkers.
My least favorite part:
When kids age out of foster care, meaning they turn 18 without ever being adopted. It’s incredibly sad because I know these are good kids who could thrive in a forever family, but they never got the chance.
More about me:
This is the only job I’ve ever had! I started when I was 18 and I’ve been working here for 15 years, and I still really enjoy it. Outside of work, I love spending time with my three kids (aged 12, seven, and nine months). My oldest was diagnosed with cancer, so we like letting him pick vacation spots and taking trips as a family. We visited Florida recently, and we’re hoping to go to California so he can see Cars Land. I’m also very involved with my church—I help out occasionally as the computer tech and my wife and I teach kindergarten at Vacation Bible School.
Ask me about:
Sports and cars! I love cheering for the Rockets and restoring cars.
