Sarah Ann Haynes, BSW
Foster Care Adoption Coordinator
As a Foster Care Adoption Coordinator at Arms Wide, Sarah Ann Haynes ensures families have everything they need to thrive on their foster care or adoption journey.
Why I started with Arms Wide:
I knew I wanted to start my career in social work within the child welfare system. Arms Wide has a great reputation for an exceptional work/life balance while also serving families and children with all their needs. It was important to me that I work with an agency that was loved by their employees and by the families they serve.
My favorite part about my job:
I love interacting with our foster children during home visits and events. There is no better feeling than making a child laugh or having a child run to greet you at the door. Knowing that you are an important part in their life, and that they trust you, is a gift that cannot be replicated.
My least favorite part:
A child asking when they get to go back home, when you know reunification is unlikely or no longer possible for that child.
More about me:
I am from Birmingham, Alabama, and I moved to Houston in 2024. I moved here with my boyfriend and our two dogs, Magnolia and Winny. I graduated with my bachelor’s in social work from the University of Alabama- Roll Tide! Family and friends mean everything to me; I go back home to Alabama as much as possible, but I absolutely love living in Houston and would not change a thing. I prefer to go by my first and middle name, Sarah Ann.
Ask me about:
Dogs (especially pitbulls!), Beyonce, & Costco!
